Artist's Statement

Having made masks for many years, I've recently begun making bodies and skeletons for them and taking photographs of them on some of my sculptures or on surfaces in the larger world. After 20+ years as a production potter in Maine, my wife and I moved to Canada where I have been pursuing a mostly sculptural career. I work by response beginning with no idea where I'm heading and letting the materials guide me. Car parts are my almost exclusive source of materials because I believe there are too many cars in the world.

Jeff lives in Fort Erie Ontario Canada, which for those who don't know, is just across the bridge from Buffalo. His studio is currently a steel shipping container which makes a great studio since there's lots of heat/sparks involved.
